Blood Testing

Blood Testing:

Our lab technicians utilise equipment to examine the dried blood spots and gather data. From this data, we analyse how it relates to allergies and intolerances. For Allergy and Intolerance testing we use The Allergy Line Test, which is an enzyme immunoassay for in-vitro testing. There are two distinct areas of testing we carry out in our laboratory; IgE, for allergies and IgG4, for intolerances. Our facilities and allergen partners are certified according to ISO 9001. Their Research & Development team is also responsible for creating the IVD testing equipment – The Allergy Line Test: an enzyme immunoassay for in-vitro allergy diagnostics in-line strip format – that we use. They provide all practitioners with full guidance and training on quantitatively determining specific IgE antibodies from a selection of relevant allergens for the serological diagnosis of type 1 allergies.

The exclusive blood sample allergy and/or intolerance tests are an easy to use finger-prick test kit that allows the client to obtain a small sample and submit this to our laboratory. Once received our partner lab team analyse the reaction of the sample to allergens to determine which displays a potential intolerance/allergy.

The CE-approved equipment in the testing includes everything required to take a virtually painless sample. The sample is then returned to the lab.

On receipt of the sample at our partner blood testing laboratory in the UK, we will inform you that the lab has received your sample and when the testing process has begun.

The Lab Process

Our technician partners collate the samples and extract the analytes from the dried blood spots after reconstituting the blood. The lab, which is part of a ISO 9001:2015 certified facility, follows good laboratory practice and is overseen by a qualified laboratory manager.

Once the test has been completed, the lab team ensures that the testing process has been performed to the required standards following their vigorous quality management systems. They will not release any data or results that do not meet our criteria or quality control processes.

Any reactions observed are highlighted on the results are then used to provide a data curve, meaning they are able to grade all other reactions that are present. This gives each customer their scores against specific antibodies. Our partner lab technicians then check the results and look for any anomalies, whilst also checking the testing equipment.

All of the lab team are expertly trained to identify any potential issues with any of the testing equipment or procedure. It is of utmost importance to us that we provide accurate results and will always side with caution if we believe that the results may not be complete.

What is an Intolerance or Allergy Test?

Food Intolerance or sensitivity

We screen samples for food intolerance by measuring IgG4 antibody reactions using the ELISA method. This is a globally recognised and documented technique and has been established for laboratory analysis for over 40 years being universally accepted as reliable and trustworthy.

Our labs class a raised IgG4 antibody reaction as an assertion of a positive result indicating a trigger item that causes an inflammatory response leading to a symptom. We categorise this as an intolerance or sensitivity.

There are wide range of scientific studies that support our assertion available both online and through scientific journals. We have provided summaries of published articles related to this field.

Allergies

Our test for a food allergy reaction uses an approved in-vitro testing system which measures an IgE antibody reaction. The blood sample, which is spun to collect the plasma, is exposed to a panel of food and non-food items. If a reaction is observed, the client results will be classed as positive, and an allergy will be recorded.

The response of the IgE antibody to an item is the cause of allergy symptoms. These reactions can vary significantly and present in the body through tissue or organs, which in turn leaves to discomfort, pain, and in some cases, damage.

IgE scientific studies that support the link between raised IgE levels and allergies are available both online and through scientific journals. We have provided summarised copies of published articles related to this field.

Health Testing

Our current tests include Liver Function, Kidney Health, Vitamin D, Iron, Persistent Inflammation, Underactive Thyroid and Prostate Health. Test use either blood or urine samples to quickly and effectively provide you with results that can be used to get peace of mind or give you information to investigate symptoms or a condition further.

What we test for…

Vitamin D Test

25-hydroxy Vitamin D is the main storage form of vitamin D in the human body. The current status of vitamin D levels can be determined by detecting the content of 25-hydroxy Vitamin D.

25-hydroxy Vitamin D level less than 30ng/mL indicates Vitamin D Deficiency or Insufficiency.

The test provides results based on Deficient, Insufficient or Excess. Both Deficient and Insufficient results can then be used to request a secondary test or consult further medical advice.

Kidney Health

Creatinine, Protein and Specific Gravity levels are tested using a small urine sample.

Liver Function Test

Leukocytes: White Blood Cells produced by the body to help fight infection. Could indicate a UTI or Kidney Infection.
Nitrites: Bacteria that cause urinary tract infections (UTIs) convert nitrates into nitrites. A positive result for nitrites could indicate a UTI.
Urobilinogen: A by-product of the breakdown of Bilirubin. Smaller levels are normal, but larger levels could indicate liver disease.
Protein: High levels of protein in a urine sample can indicate kidney disease.
pH: Checks the acidity or alkalinity of urine.
Blood: A serious UTI/Cystitis can cause blood in urine as well as other issues such as kidney stones or bladder/kidney cancer.
Specific Gravity (S.G.): Higher specific gravity could be signs of a UTI, diabetes or even dehydration. Other issues could be a kidney infection, kidney failure or heart failure.
Ketone: Ketones are produced when the body is not able to extract energy from Glucose and therefore starts to burn off body fat. A high level of ketones could simply be down to dieting, not eating for prolonged periods of time (12-18 hours), or something more serious such as diabetes.
Bilirubin: A by-product of the breakdown of red blood cells. These cells should not be present in the urine and these could indicate liver disease.
Glucose: Not usually found in urine as the kidneys are able to process it and release it back into the body. Glucose in urine can indicate undiagnosed diabetes.

Iron Deficiency Test

Ferritin is a blood protein that contains iron. Our home ferritin test helps you understand how much iron your body is storing and if you have iron deficiency.

Ferritin levels less than 30ng/mL indicate an Iron Deficiency or Insufficiency.

The test provides results based on Normal or Abnormal/Deficient basis. Deficient results can then be used to request a secondary test or consult further medical advice.

Underactive Thyroid Test

The thyroid is a gland that produces hormones and releases them into the bloodstream that controls the rate at which the body uses and stores energy from the food we eat, also known as the metabolic rate.

A TSH level higher than 5μIU/mL indicates a higher-than-normal level and the possibility of an underactive thyroid.

The test provides results based on a Positive/Higher or Negative/Normal basis. Positive results can then be used to request a secondary test or consult further medical advice.

Persitent Inflammation Test

Serum amyloid A (SAA) proteins are produced predominantly by the liver and are usually in response to inflammation in the body.

The raised Serum amyloid A (SAA) gives an indicator of inflammation in the body and is especially useful for evaluating disease severity and monitoring disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and secondary amyloidosis.

An SSA level higher than 10μIU/mL indicates a higher than normal level and a positive test.

The test provides results based on a Positive/Higher or Negative/Normal basis. Positive results can then be used to request a secondary test or consult further medical advice.

Prostate Health Test

The prostate antigen (PSA) is secreted by the prostate gland, which is situated in the abdomen under the bladder surrounding part of the urethra and plays an important role in semen production.

The prostate antigen level gives information about the prostate physiological condition. Levels above normal may indicate a range of conditions, including benign hypertrophy, prostatitis or cancer.

A PSA level higher than 4μIU/mL indicates a higher than normal level and the possibility of a health issue.

The test provides results based on a Positive/Higher or Negative/Normal basis. Positive results can then be used to request a secondary test or consult further medical advice.

Menopause Rapid Test

The Home Menopause (FSH) Test designed to help clients gain a rapid indication of Follicle-Stimulating hormone (FSH) in urine, aiding the early detection of menopause. It can also be used to screen for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and ovarian failure in non-perimenopausal women with persistently elevated levels of FSH.

Currently, menopause is not scientifically diagnosed until a woman’s menstrual periods have stopped for one full year. However, the varying period of time leading up to menopause is called perimenopause which can include a variety of problematic symptoms and related health issues.

The female hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle can change, as the body produces less oestrogen and produces more FSH during the perimenopausal stage. Detecting this early means that you can take appropriate steps to keep your body healthy and prevent health risks associated with menopause, which include osteoporosis, high cholesterol and blood pressure, and an increased risk of heart disease.

Hair Testing

We provide the highest quality non-IgE mediated tests anywhere in the world from our UK lab facilities. Since 2008 we have been a pioneer of bioresonance hair testing supply individuals with both smart and efficient sensitivity results on up to 975 items. Classed under the category of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) the tests are designed to help clients to identify dietary and environmental changes using a non-invasive test.

The Testing Process

Bioresonance technology has been used in practices globally since 1970’s and has been improving at a significant rate. For the testing that we perform, we require a few strands of hair which is placed in one of the four MARS III analytical machines.

From the sample the equipment generates a report to identify whether or not the client will have any reactions, and therefore whether or not you need to avoid certain items or could be experiencing any imbalances. Our test results provide customers with a comprehensive and detailed overview of the potential items which a client may be sensitive to.

Tests include food items, non-food items, nutrition and metals in one comprehensive report.
